Chardonnay is one of the pre-eminent varieties of the Orange Region. The high elevation and cool ripening makes for an elegant wine with a beautiful natural acidity with both flavour and balance.
REGION: Orange Region, NSW Central Highlands
GRAPE VARIETY: 100% Chardonnay
WINEMAKING: The chardonnay was hand picked and whole bunch pressed before fermentation on full solids in a combination of stainless steel and French oak barrels. This was followed by 9 months maturation to build complexity and palate weight. The separate parcels were then blended prior to bottling.
COLOUR: Straw with a youthful green tint.
AROMA: Fresh and lively aromas of grapefruit, apple, white peach and tropical fruits with attractive subtle lees and oak complexity.
PALATE: Full flavoured and mouth filling varietal chardonnay. The oak sits well within a spectrum of fruit flavours that flow through from the aroma. Good structure and natural acidity ensure lovely balance and length of flavour.
WINE ANALYSIS: Alc/vol: 12.5%
ADDITIVES: Made using traditional methods. Some traces of milk produces may remain. Preservative 220 added.
PEAK DRINKING: Enjoy now however this bottle aged chardonnay is aging beautifully.
FOOD MATCHES: Match with chicken pasta with a creamy sauce and CHEESE!!
